Airline Pilot Training

Atlantic Flight Training will be holding a further information presentation at the Ramada Encore Hotel at the NEC Birmingham on June 21st starting at 7.00pm for students who have an interest in becoming commercial airline pilots. This will consist of a presentation followed by refreshments and also includes free parking.
We are offering GCSE, sixth form students and their parents the opportunity to visit Atlantic Flight Training for this event. As numbers are limited it is necessary to register and book early with us  by Calling Maureen on 02476 98 06 12 or registering on line at maureen.thornton@flyaft.com
Atlantic flight Training are an Independent JAA accredited airline pilot training college approved and licensed by the CAA, based at Coventry Airport.  We are very pleased to announce that we now specialize solely in the training of Quality airline pilots directly for the aviation industry. Atlantic Flight Training is an independent privately funded company with substantial financial investment and stability.
We have been training Pilots for airlines for many years and owing to the unprecedented demand for new pilots in the industry, we are now critically short of new aircrew. In view of this we would greatly appreciate the opportunity of meeting with you, your students and graduates to discuss career aspirations. Enrolling on a post grad program with Atlantic Flight Training will see you qualifying within eighteen months on our integrated airline training program.
The benefits of this would see graduates move into an area where there are genuine highly paid vacancies. Currently, based on orders for new aircraft, Boeing, Airbus and the industry publication "Flight Training News” predicts a requirement for the next twenty years of ninety seven thousand new pilots in Europe alone. Globally the demand is close to five hundred thousand. You will expect to earn an average of £100,000 per year throughout your career.
Aviation is an industry which is seeing very positive growth due to the world population expansion, new greener aviation technology. Lower operating costs, efficient airline business plans, and lower infrastructure costs than traditional rail and road networks.
Graduates of Atlantic Flight Training are now flying with some of the world leading airlines including, British Airways Qatar, Aer Lingus, Ryanair, Easyjet and Flybe to name a few. Atlantic Flight Training students have many benefits unique to our college which enhance their initial chance of airline placement.

Warsash Maritime Academy wmaheadertext

CAREERS OPEN DAY

Friday 29th June - From 10am to 4pm

SPONSORED TRAINING FOR THE MARITIME INDUSTRY

TMR Open DayThe Open Day aims to give prospective officer cadets an insight into what a career in the shipping industry has to offer and the training programmes necessary to become qualified as a ship's navigation or engineer officer.
Many of the major British shipping companies currently recruiting cadets will attend to give information about the career opportunities that they can offer.
Cadets under training will also be on hand to share some first hand experiences of the career that they have chosen.
A number of our training facilities will be open and visitors will be able to take part in demonstrations and exercises designed to give a flavour of life at sea. These will include the Ship's Bridge Simulator and Engine Room Simulator.

·         Our courses lead to an HND or a Foundation Degree with a top up to a (BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons)
·         On the job training means there’s lots of variety
·         Get paid while you work towards your qualifications
·         Travel the world while you train
·         Excellent salary and career prospects, both at sea and ashore
·         Sponsorship from shipping companies – no course fees!

What can you expect from the Open Day?

Do I need to register? Its not essential for you to register, we are always pleased to see you, however it makes it easier for us - and you if you pre - register. Download the registration form here and send it directly to emily.steel@solent.ac.uk

Can we see the cadet accommodation?
Yes, you will be able to see a study bedroom and the communal area's. There's more information on accommodation here.

Where can we park? There will be limited parking on campus - on a first come, first served basis. If there is an overflow, you will be able to park at the Salterns car park, which is about 300 metres up the road from the college. If you require a disabled parking space, or any special assistance, please let us know.

Is there a refectory area that we can use?Yes, the refectory will be open all day and you can purchase sandwiches, meals and hot and cold snacks and drinks there. The Mariners coffee bar is also open and you can get sandwiches, panini's, pizza and Costa coffee's.

What is the chance of these students receiving sponsorshipVery good, depending on the particular company they apply to as to their specific employment guidelines. Generally any applicant must have 5 GCSE's Grades A - C (including Maths, English and Science).

Is there an upper age limit for entry? No, not at all, again dependent on the company that employs them - this year we have had cadets through ranging from 16 - 45.

How do I get there?
Click here for directions by road and train. You can access a campus map, and a map of the local area here.

Should I bring a copy of my cv?It's always worth bringing CV's to show to the company. Some companies have been known to interview then and there - but it depends on how busy they are.

Will the companies be willing to talk with small group of students and give advice? There will be presentations from lecturers who will speak with visitors - as well as lots of other staff and students, and the companies will be available to talk all day.

Are companies recruiting for this coming academic year? The companies will be looking to recruit potentially for January and September 2012.

I can't make this open day, can I arrange a private visit?Unfortunately, we are a small team and although we would love to - we simply do not have the time available to us to take on individual visits to the campus for potential students.

PWC School Insight Days

School Insight Days

Whether you're ready to start a job or decide to go to University, you can pick up loads of information about our work and decide which of our career options interests you most on this highly interactive day.
It's a good place to start whatever your plans. In fact, many of the people who join us straight from A levels or on our graduate programmes have taken part in one of our Insight days first.
Get involved & take something home
You'll spend a day in one of our offices across the UK, discovering what we do, how, why and where we do it, and who we do it for. You’ll find out how many directions a career with PwC can take you in – and how far you could go – and you'll be able to ask us questions face to face and get a better grasp of our business.
You'll try your hand at a variety of teamwork simulations and business games, find out if you have the makings of a commercial thinker and discover how it feels to be part of a client project. All of this will focus your mind on the kind of personal and business skills we look for in new recruits. The result? A better idea of whether professional services is for you – and lots of fun along the way.
You’ll also benefit from plenty of practical advice. As well as completing some psychometric tests – now an integral part of the selection process for most roles in business – you'll find out what makes a good quality application and pick up tips on application and interview techniques. All of which will be invaluable whatever your next steps will be.
People who've been on an Insight Day tell us it’s brilliant for getting that all-important first insight into business and opening your eyes to the skills you'll need to succeed. Not only that, because the day is so practical, you can really enhance your CV – even if you decide not to pursue a career with us.
You'll need at least 240 UCAS tariff or equivalent.
Why not come along? You've nothing to lose – and so much to gain.
