BT Work Inspiration

BT has many employees who are active in a number of voluntary activities within their communities. People give of their time working with Youth Groups, Charities, Scouts/Guides, Boys & Girls Brigade, and Boards of Governors, for example. As part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) there is a formal BT Volunteer Scheme which focuses on delivering a range of educational activities for young people in schools, colleges, universities and charities throughout the UK & Ireland.
Sir Michael Rake, says: “BT’s commitment to training and work-based learning is a real strength.
There are a number of volunteering programmes that BT offer to people in the community.

Work Experience – BT World of Work.... Work Inspiration!

BT provides a work experience programme which aims to inspire people about working life sharing opportunities that could be available that they may not have thought about. Work placements can help young people decide where their future lies and so this improved scheme has BT’s full support.
BT uses a programme developed by Business in the Community called Work Inspiration which has three “insights” in mind, so we can make sure everyone gets the best out of their time with us.
  • All about me: we make sure there’s the chance to talk about what they’re interested in, and what they’re good at
  • A look behind the scenes: see different parts of the company so they know the variety and scope of opportunities in the world of work
  • Careers happen: find out how real careers unfold by speaking to BT employees
