The Benefits of University Societies!   University societies aren't all socialising and drinking circles; while the togetherness of the group is a major benefit, and laughs had by all, societies are also really great ways of impressing graduate recruiters.   Companies don’t want carbon copies sat next to each other in a row of desks; they want complimentary minds with different experiences and ideas to add to the team. You can show that by starting a student society. Even if you don’t start one, think of all you can give employers by joining - if you become a Finance Secretary of a society you’ve got some evidence of managing budgets for your CV.
