Job Description:
A four year Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship.  BMW Group is a global organisation, designing and manufacturing motor vehicles of the highest quality, including highly acclaimed engines produced at BMW Plant Hams Hall.  As a major international company we are proud of our investment in people and we are currently seeking Manufacturing Engineering Apprentices to join us in September 2012.

BMW Manufacturing/Engineering teams are vitally important in all areas of our business, including quality support, process specialists, manufacturing engineering, planning etc.  They are responsible for the rapid resolution to complex problems in the technical manufacturing environment.

Requirements:
We are looking for enthusiastic, disciplined and inquisitive individuals who exhibit initiative and are reliable, conscientious team players.  Applicants should have a minimum of 3 A Levels at Grade C or above to include Maths and a Science.  Applicants should also have achieved Grade B or above at GCSE Level in English.

Training:
As a BMW apprentice you will be attending college on a block and day release basis and will undertake work based placements at BMW Plant Hams Hall.  Training includes the study of modern technology, state-of-the-art engineering production techniques and problem resolution techniques.  A typical four year programme comprises:

Year 1:          Full time attendance at college undertaking NVQ level two in Performing Engineering Operations, year 1 of Engineering BTEC and Year 1 of Foundation Degree.

Year 2:          Work based placements and attendance at college two days per week to complete Engineering BTEC, Foundation Degree and NVQ Level 3.

Years 3/4:             Work based placements and day release at University to undertake Honours Degree.

Progression at each stage of your academic programme is dependent upon personal performance.

Remuneration:
A competitive salary enhanced annually depending on individual performance.
Eligible for company car scheme following 12 months service.

Working Hours:
37 hour working week, start and finish times will vary according to work based placements and college hours.
