Job Description:
A three year Business Apprenticeship within the Logistics Department at BMW Plant Hams Hall. BMW Group is a global organisation, designing and manufacturing motor vehicles of the highest quality, including highly acclaimed engines produced at BMW Plant Hams Hall. As a major international company we are proud of our investment in people and we are currently seeking Business Apprentices to work within the Logistics Department to join us in September 2012.
BMW Logistics teams are vitally important in all areas of our business, including Programme Planning, Logistics Planning, Material Control and Logistics Operations. They are responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the Logistics Supply Chain are met and ensure we can produce engines on time in line with customer requirements.
Requirements:
We are looking for enthusiastic, disciplined and inquisitive individuals who exhibit initiative and are reliable, conscientious team players. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 A Levels at Grade C or above.
Training:
As a BMW apprentice you will be attending college on a day release basis, and will undertake work based placements at BMW Plant Hams Hall. Training includes the study of modern technology, state-of-the-art engineering production techniques and problem resolution techniques. A typical three year programme comprises:
Year 1: Day release at college to undertake year 1 of a Business Foundation Degree.
NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration.
Year 2: Day release at college to undertake year 2 of a Business Foundation Degree.
NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.
Year 3: Day release at college to undertake year 3 of a Business Foundation Degree.
Remuneration:
A competitive salary enhanced annually depending on individual performance.
Eligible for company car scheme following 12 months service.
Working Hours:
37 hour working week, start and finish times will vary according to work based placements and college hours.

Logistics managers play an important role in all of this, liaising with a range of people including suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers. To make truckload shipment successful is a main goal.
