A four year Engineering Technician Apprenticeship within the Quality Department. BMW Group is a global organisation, designing and manufacturing motor vehicles of the highest quality, including highly acclaimed engines produced at BMW Plant Hams Hall. As a major international company we are proud of our investment in people and we are currently seeking a Quality Engineering Technician Apprentice to join us in September 2012.
You will gain an in-depth understanding of how quality principles are applied to assure the quality of the manufactured engine and components, and gain specialist knowledge within the Metrology Laboratory.
Requirements:
We are looking for enthusiastic, disciplined and inquisitive individuals who exhibit initiative and are reliable, conscientious team players. Attention to detail and the desire to drive to bring about improvements is also required. Applicants should have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade B or above, at least one of which must be in a science / mathematically oriented subject.
Training:
As a BMW apprentice you will be attending college on a block and day release basis and will undertake work based placements at BMW Plant Hams Hall. Training includes the study of modern technology, state-of-the-art engineering production techniques and processes. A typical four year programme comprises:
Year 1: Full time attendance at college undertaking NVQ level two in Performing
Engineering Operations, Functional Skills and year 1 of Engineering BTEC.
Year 2: Day release at college undertaking year 2 of Engineering BTEC, work based
placements and NVQ Level 3.
Year 3: Day release at college undertaking year 1 of Engineering Foundation Degree,
work based placements and NVQ Level 3.
Year 4: Day release at college undertaking year 2 of Engineering Foundation Degree,
work based placements.
Progression at each stage of your academic programme is dependent upon personal performance.
Remuneration:
A competitive salary enhanced annually depending on individual performance.
Eligible for company car scheme following 12 months service.
Working Hours:
37 hour working week, start and finish times will vary according to work based placements and college hours.
